• Del writes: This is a iranian marrage token given out by the couple. Similar inscriptions are found on many largess coins (donative pieces given out for celebrations like marriage, circumcision or the birth of a boy).
• I wonder if this token is related to the Islamic tradition of mahr, dowry given by the groom to the bride? Does anyone know?
