Distinct Vision

22mm, brass
About this token:
- British store card, issued in Birmingham, Warwickshire, by J.Gargory, the optician, around the year 1860 - when he moved to number 41 Bull Street. Previously, he was at number 5 Bull Street and he also issued tokens with this address. Many of these tokens are found with small, neat holes pierced near to the edge, so that a patient could wear them around the neck, continuing an ancient superstition in connection with eyesight problems.
