Festival de Cette Ville

28mm, brass
About this token:
- Pierre writes: "Cette" is the previous ( XIX° century ) way of writing the
name of "Sète", which is a town near Beziers, on the mediterranean french
coast. CETTE VILLE translates "Town of SETE " This small medal celebrates
a music festival which took place on the 14th of July 1878 ( Bastille Day,
on the 14th of July, is the French symbol of the end of the Monarchy and the
beginning of the First Republic )
- Christian writes: I have no idea where that is from, but unless there is
a French/francophone town called "Cetteville" (which I doubt), this "Festival
de Cette Ville" simply means "festival of this town/city" :-)
