Cabela's Tokens
Cabela's is a hunting/outdoor gear superstore started in 1961. I started seeing tokens from them in 2002 but wasn't sure if these were some kind of amusement token, or just an advertising item. In Jan. 2012 I visited the Cabela's in Post Falls, ID and found they were using the tokens in a shooting gallery. The tokens I've seen all have the same design on one side (which I'm calling the obverse) with various designs on the reverse. All that I've seen have the city/state listed on the reverse. I have only see a few of these tokens so far, but there is the potential for a lot of different types, so I decided to start a web list of them. There are a lot of these on eBay currently (Jan. 2012), most offered at about $2.50 but I don't see many bids. Cabela's sells them for 4/$1 or 6/$1.

List of Cabela's stores in USA (from company web page Jan 2012), known tokens are noted. If anyone knows the years various stores opened, please let me know (stevensf(at)pullman.com) and I'll add the dates here. I have not had the opportunity to measure all of the tokens, but all are believed to be 25mm in diameter and made of a yellow brass/bronze alloy. If you know of any in other sizes or metals, please let me know!
